I have always been a fan of my father's hands. Big and strong and masculine. A couple of weeks before he passed away from dementia, I waited for him to fall asleep in his wheelchair. I set up a table covered in plastic next to him, set the bucket on it, held his hand and we dunked. He startled for a second, but that was actually helpful to get the bubbles popped! I just held his hand tight and he fell right back to sleep. The only difficult part was getting his hand back out. Mine slipped out fairly easily, but getting an unconscious hand out of a mold without hurting him proved interesting. My husband yanked and yanked at the bucket while I held Dad's arm. Teamwork is important! Read the instructions to yourself, to your team, to yourself again. Be prepared with everything you'll need ahead of time. I was doing this in his nursing home away from home and felt like an idiot bugging the staff for various items, but they all seemed interested in what I was up to. All in all, I was VERY HAPPY with how it turned out.
I absolutely love this product! It lasts a lifetime and is very nice. It was easy to follow the instructions. Just make sure you get all air bubbles out. I did have some bubbles on the end result but I could sand them down luckily. Highly recommend as a keepsake, as a gift, or just to do on a rainy day!
